About Course
Everything you need to understand right away. We explore a little to understand how these mysterious shirts fascinated us. We hunted the museum exhibits in detail, but we only understood the true purpose after we practiced and managed to find things that are not even in the books. I’ll explain it to you together with Anca and Gabriela, as I also learned, in stages. So:
A magical shirt that gave birth to legends, but which was not fully understood… until now. Spiral sleeves with their regal look reminiscent of Byzantine luxury inspire us with their ingenuity. The hallucinating twists seem to hide secrets, but we explain everything you need to sew without fear. You will understand how to make a shirt from Vrancea or one from Bran, because although they look similar, they are not the same. If you want to stand out and turn heads, you have to twist up your sleeves!
Special guests
Arch. Ioana Corduneanu, an experienced designer, launched Semne Cusute in 2012 to present traditional shirts from a current perspective.
Gabriela creates, passionate about sustainability and how clothing can express our identity, has been with Semne Cusute since the beginning.
Anca Mihaela Badiu has been sewing Romanian shirts since 2017. Her tailoring experience and her career as a dentist helped her understand complex cutting patterns and meticulous embroidery.
